NOMA: Ground Breaking for Highline, a $100m Apartment Community
Last Wednesday ground was broken at the new Highline a $100 million apartment community at 320 Florida Avenue, NE. The new project will provide 318 luxury apartment homes including four penthouse units and approximately 10,000 square feet of first floor retail space.The initial PR and some renderings can be seen here in an earlier release.
The groundbreaking and project heralded the promised exciting development between Federal Capital Partners, Clark Enterprises, Level2, United Bank and EB5 Capital.
The EB-5 financing grew out of a trip to China the Mayor made with Level2 development and then the project was made possible with FCP and EB-5 financing
Highline will provide a variety of affordable housing options in the District: 13 affordable single family homes, and 13 more affordable rental units within the Highline itself.
During the groundbreaking it was announced that delivery is expected Q1 2019 with leasing starting 3rd quarter 2018. (updated from the original press release in January)
Mayor Muriel Bowser was the VIP speaker and she relayed a story about going to China with Level 2 and how that led to the EB-5 partnership. How the importance of adding more affordable housing and that this project will deliver on that. She stated that Highline would provide housing and jobs, an that the DC still counts cranes throughout the city and that Highline would be adding 3 to that list
