GEORGETOWN: Brilliant Earth Secures Long-Term Lease in Cady's Alley - Coming April 2017

Sparkle and shine is coming to Cady’s Alley. EastBanc, Inc., Jamestown LP, and Acadia Realty Trust announced today that Brilliant Earth, the leading retailer of ethically sourced bridal and fine jewelry, has signed a long-term lease to occupy the retail space in its Georgetown Renaissance property at 3332 Cady’s Alley, NW. The brand’s first DC location will house a 2,500 square foot showroom, scheduled to plans open in early April 2017. Jonathan Harms and Jake Rueben of Cresa Washington DC represented Brilliant Earth in the deal.

Since its start in 2005, Brilliant Earth has been dedicated to cultivating a more ethical, transparent and compassionate jewelry industry. Brilliant Earth pairs ethical sourcing with high-quality craftsmanship and unique designs, demonstrating that fine jewelry need not come at great human or environmental cost. They offer an extensive collection of engagement rings, wedding rings, and fine jewelry exquisitely handcrafted from recycled precious metals and set with ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones that adhere to strict labor and environmental standards. In addition to fair sourcing practices, Brilliant Earth is committed to initiating change in the jewelry industry, donating five percent of profits to help communities impacted by the jewelry trade build a brighter future. With showrooms in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and San Diego, Brilliant Earth is expanding their reach by adding their first DC store to the region’s fashion and design capital, Georgetown. Showroom hours will be Thursday through Monday, 10am to 7pm, by appointment.
“Brilliant Earth represents fashion-forward luxury and a socially conscious approach to retail,” says Philippe Lanier of EastBanc. “Cady’s Alley is home to the best in class, so we think this is the perfect fit for the high-end jewelry brand.”
The new Brilliant Earth retail space will add to the collection of high-end fashion lines currently found in Cady’s Alley, a retail corner in Washington’s epicenter of upscale fashion, design, furnishing and lifestyle goods. The deal is one of many in the recent Georgetown Renaissance leasing activity that includes luxury fashion retailers Ledbury, Rent the Runway, Intermix, Bonobos and popular home goods brands, Resource Furniture, The Shade Store, Circa Lighting and Design Within Reach.

The Georgetown Renaissance portfolio is a collection of high-end retail properties in one of Washington, DC’s premier retail locations. The portfolio also includes boutique office space and 16 luxury rental apartments. Georgetown Renaissance consists of more than 300,000 square feet across 18 properties in Georgetown and one property in Alexandria, Virginia, and it includes the area commonly referred to as Cady’s Alley. The three partners are working on an additional 15,000 square feet of new leases within the portfolio.
