GEORGETOWN: Celebrate Father's Day, Negroni Week & More in June at Via Umbria
Below are the details on upcoming events throughout the month of June at
Georgetown’s Italian food emporium, Via Umbria.
Camparti – Thursday, June 8, 7:00 p.m.
To celebrate Negroni Week, Via Umbria will host a party with all things Campari. Guests will enjoy tastings from six different stations serving up unique twists on a traditional Negroni created by house mixologist Matt Demma. There will also be a full Negroni bar set up with cocktail demos occurring throughout the night. As part of Negroni Week, Via Umbria will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds from “Camparti” to Miriam’s Kitchen, a non-profit aimed at ending chronic homelessness in D.C.

Being the Butcher: Butcher on a Budget – Wednesday, June 14, 7:30 p.m.
Join Via Umbria’s head butcher Scott Weiss for a class on how to grill on a budget. Weiss will share various tips and tricks on which cuts of meat to choose and the best ways to grill them up without breaking the bank. The ticket price includes small bites, and wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Father’s Day Brunch – Sunday, June 18, 1:00 p.m.
On Sunday, June 18, Via Umbria will feature a special menu for brunch to celebrate Father’s day. Hosted in the upstairs Laboratorio demonstration kitchen, guests will be seated at a communal table and will enjoy dishes like assorted bruschetta, poached eggs with roasted hanger steak, sausage frittata with potatoes and roasted tomatoes, and chocolate mousse with berries and shortbread. Bottomless Aperol Spritz, Mimosas or Bloody Marys are included in the ticket price.

Pizza Making Class: Battle of the Sauces – Tuesday, June 27, 7:30 p.m.
Via Umbria will host an interactive pizza-making class on June 27 in their upstairs demonstration kitchen. The class will teach guests how to roll pizza dough and how to create different flavors using various sauces like classic marinara or even dessert pizza using melted Nutella. Each guest will go home with all of the recipes featured in the class.
