WASHINGTON DC: National Doughnut Day at Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken - June 2nd - All Locations
To celebrate National Doughnut Day, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will feature a special edition Cherry Pie doughnut on Friday, June 2. The doughnut, is made with cherry compote filling, tart cherry vanilla glaze and shortbread cookie crumbles, and is priced at $3.50. The Cherry Pie doughnut will be available in limited supply at the downtown Washington, DC and Falls Church, VA locations, on the Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken food truck (check here for schedule updates), and in Astro’s newest location in downtown Los Angeles.
For the fourth year in a row, Astro Doughnuts will partner with the Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit that provides a network of comfort homes where military families can stay at no cost while a loved one receives treatment. 100% of Cherry Pie doughnut sales on June 2 will benefit the Fisher House Foundation.
National Doughnut Day was created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1983 to honor their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I, and celebrations on this day often have ties to the military.
