WEST END: Park Hyatt Washington to Host An Afternoon of Rare Tea as Part of Their Masters of Food & Wine Event - Dec 17
Park Hyatt Washington D.C. will host a Winter 2016 Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine, a seasonal culinary & beverage experience on Saturday, December 17. This
culinary gathering salutes the ingredients, flavors, and talents of
local chefs, regional artisans and sommeliers and will take place in the
semi-private Mezzanine Loft, which serves as a gallery
space for a curated selection of art from The Phillips Collection.
Guests will join Tea Specialist Christian Eck for an exploration of rare teas available in Park Hyatt Washington’s Tea Cellar including traditionally prepared Matcha, 1978 Vintage Reserve Cave-Aged Pu-erh, Monkey-Picked Golden Oolong, Royal Snowflakes, White Star of China, and Moonlight Litchi Blossom. Priced at $85 per person, which includes a tasting of five teas paired with lite bites to complement the unique taste and profile of each tea.
Christian Eck has a lifetime appreciation for anything ‘liquid’ -- whether it be alcoholic, or non-alcoholic. This interest has led Eck to complete numerous courses including one led by Great Falls Tea Garden, VA. As well as being Park Hyatt Washington’s Tea Specialist, he is a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Eck is available to share with guests the history, flavor, chemistry and cultural significance of each tea, providing the perfect teatime experience.
