WASHINGTON DC: November Doughnut Flavors at Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken has finalized their lineup of special flavors for the month of November. Available between November 1 and Election Day, November 8, are the Hillary and the Donald doughnuts, inspired by foods enjoyed by both candidates:

• The Spicy Hot Chocolate doughnut, in honor of Hillary Clinton who is known to be a fan of chocolate and reportedly eats a hot pepper every day, is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate Chipotle glaze and a “D” piped on top, available for $2.85.

• Donald Trump reportedly enjoys cherry vanilla ice cream and Diet Coke, hence the Vanilla Cherry Coke doughnut: a pillow yeast doughnut filled with cherry compote and Cherry Vanilla Coke glaze, with an “R” piped on top. It will be available for $3.10.

Beginning November 9 through the end of the month, seasonal flavors including the sweet potato casserole, bourbon pecan pie and cranberry orange doughnuts will be available through the remainder of the month:

• Sweet potato casserole: a square doughnut with sweet potato pastry cream filling, pumpkin spice glaze and toasted mini marshmallows ($3.10).

• Bourbon pecan pie: bourbon butterscotch glaze, butterscotch drizzle, candied pecans, toasted pie crust crumble ($2.85).

• Cranberry orange: cranberry orange glaze, diced dried cranberries, diced candied orange peels ($2.85).
