DURING NATIONAL CAPITAL PRIDE WEEKEND
DC Gym Chain Embraces LGBT Equality with Meet & Greet Photo-Op of Star LGBT Olympic, Professional and Collegiate Athletes on Saturday, June 10 at 12:00 Noon – Open to Public
As part of National Capital Pride Weekend festivities, VIDA Fitness is partnering with Athlete Ally to host a special Meet the Athletes photo opportunity reception at its U Street location on Saturday, June 10 at 12:00 noon. Seven star LGBT Olympic, professional and collegiate athletes in lacrosse, swimming, soccer, water polo and tennis will be available for photos and autographs and to chat about their athletic careers. The event is free and open to the public.
Athlete Ally's mission is to educate and activate athletic communities to eliminate homophobia and transphobia in sports and to exercise their leadership to champion LGBT equality. Since its founding, Athlete Ally has attracted more than 150 professional athletes and Olympians, and teams at more than 50 U.S. colleges and universities, to champion the inclusion of the LGBT community both in sport and under the law.
VIDA Fitness is a proud supporter of LGBT causes and leads the way in providing safe spaces for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community at all of its affiliate businesses. In addition to the Meet the Athletes reception, Athlete Ally athletes will join VIDA on their Pride Parade float and march together during the Equality March for Unity & Pride on Sunday.Participating athletes include:
