The Rooftop Bar & Lounge, located on the 6th floor penthouse level of Rosewood Washington D.C. at 1050 31st Street, NW, is ready for its close-up, unveiling a new design to launch lunch service on Tuesday, May 30th. Offering panoramic views of the Potomac River, Kennedy Center, the Washington Monument, and the capitol city’s skyline, the Rooftop Bar & Lounge also features artisan cocktails, excellent wines, rare whiskies, and light snacks to enjoy while relaxing in the open-air lounge.
You can elect to cozy up to one of the two stationary bars or perch at high-top glass cocktail tables on the teak floored sundeck, relax at French bistro-style tables with chairs finished in a washed jade fabric, or become comfortably ensconced on inviting sectional sofas. Umbrellas and awnings fans provide relief from the elements when desired, leaving views unimpeded.
The new menu features light fare, including fresh seafood, artisanal meats, and cheeses complemented with seasonal produce sourced from Pennsylvania, Southern Maryland and Virginia. Standouts include ½ Dozen Oysters with soy-yuzu mignonette, herbs and shaved radish; Seasonal Tuna Tartare with soy and chili vinaigrette, avocado mousse, ginger, sesame, cucumber and lotus root chips; Melon and Cucumber Gazpacho with lemon verbena meringue, duck prosciutto and compressed honeydew; Watermelon Salad with seasonal greens, rose Champagne-infused watermelon, Bulgarian feta, cucumber, aged balsamic and opal basil; Frisée and Apple Salad with bacon lardons, soft boiled egg and warm bacon vinaigrette; Chicken Caesar Salad with roasted chicken, romaine, capers and reggiano cheese crostini;
Hanger Steak Salad with grilled avocado, watermelon, radishes, mizuna greens, radicchio and shaved carrots, topped with olive oil, salt & pepper; Rooftop Burger, served on a potato bun with house mayo, cheddar cheese, fries and a pickle; Grilled Pastrami & Gruyere on Rye, served with house pickle relish and Russian potato salad; Ora King Salmon, pan-seared and served with charred cucumber, asparagus, salmon roe, gherkin and beurre blanc;
Soft Shell Crab with Bibb lettuce, romesco and green goddess dressing; Artisanal Cheese Plate, daily selection of perfectly mature domestic and imported cheese served with onion jam and walnut raisin bread, as well as Salumi, sliced cured meats, house pickles and whole grain mustard. Beginning Tuesday, May 30th The Rooftop Bar & Lounge is open daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m., weather permitting. Lunch is served daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A selection of small plates will also be available during the evening hours from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with cocktail service available from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
