RAMW: Summer Restaurant Week Suggestion #7: Sakerum, U Street NW - August 14-20
The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington will host Summer Restaurant Week, August 14-20, inviting participating restaurants to offer three-course lunches for $22 and three-course dinners for $35, excluding tax and gratuity at each location. This bi-annual event invites diners to experience Washington’s top restaurants at an affordable price point.

Guests will begin their meal with a choice of appetizers such Elotes, grilled corn on cob with creamy white miso, chili & beet tempura crunch and cilantro; Grilled Calamari with eel sauce, crispy garlic, scallion and lime; Yakitori, teriyaki glazed chicken skewers with cilantro and sesame, and the Sushi Sampler, choice of nigiri or sashimi with tuna, salmon, yellowtail and shrimp. Entrée choices are just as enticing and include the Churrasco, sliced grilled beef short rib with sushi rice and chimichurri salsa; Unagi Don, roasted fresh water eel with sushi rice, eel sauce and pickled daikon; Yaki Tako, grilled octopus with olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar and orange & mango picante, and the Maki Sampler, salmon tataki roll, big crunch theory roll and California roll. For a sweet finish, Restaurant Week-goers can indulge in house-made desserts such as Mochi Ice Cream with streusel crumble, sake berry compote and whipped cream, and Churros with spicy Mexican chocolate and salted rum caramel.
Sakerum is open for dinner Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.; Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.; Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
