ALEXANDRIA: Rhone Tripping at Bastille - September 28
On Thursday, September 28th beginning at 6:30 pm, Chef/owners Christophe & Michelle Poteaux present a spectacular six-course ‘Rhône Trip’ dinner featuring the best of that region from The Country Vintner at Bastille in Old Town Alexandria.
The meal begins with an Amuse Bouche ot Falafel, Hummus and Greek yogurt sauce paired with Chateau Pesquié, Viognier Le Paradou 2015( 100% Viogner), followed by a Salad of Endive and Roasted Trumpet Mushrooms, with shaved Manchego and Pine Nuts with Domaine la Guarrigue, Vacqueras La Cantarelle 2014 (70% Grenache, 30% Syrah); Roasted Dates and Prosciutto Potato Gnocchi paired with Roger Sabon, Lirac Chapelle de Maillac 2015 (Grenach, Syrah, Cinsault); Moullard Duck Magret with Pomegranate Gastrique Sauce and Roasted Fall Fruits and Mushrooms with Chateu de Saint Cosme, Saint-Joseph 2015 (100% Syrah); Angus beef short ribs en Daube Provencale with Celeriac Mousseline paired with Domaine de Saje, Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2013 (80% Grenache, 20% Syrah); and for dessert, Chef Michelle presents Pear Tatin with Orange Flower Chiboust, honey pear sorbet and almonds with Famille Perrin, Muscat Beaumes de Venise 2014 (100% Muscat).
