The St. Gregory Hotel, an official sponsor of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, invites guests to celebrate the 90
th anniversary of the beloved festival with the
Ultimate Cherry Blossom Experience
package. Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates
the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to
the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honors the
lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued
close relationship between the two countries. This year guests can
revel in the cherry blossom's natural beauty while also enjoying a
weekend filled with luxurious accommodations, unforgettable experiences
and a cherry blossom-inspired libation.

Upon arrival, guests will receive a welcome cocktail called the
Evolution made from a combination of cherry
blossom-infused botanical gin, Brut Champagne, fresh citrus, agave
nectar and hibiscus dust, garnished with a cherry blossom. Created
by Mixologist Israel Nocelo of Tredici Enoteca, this specialty drink
will only be available during the month-long festival. The package also
includes a complimentary upgrade to one of the hotel’s luxurious
suites, based on availability, a cherry blossom souvenir, an Official
Cherry Blossom Visitors Guide, which lists the various sites to see the
blossoms and events taking place around the city throughout the
festival, complimentary overnight parking for one vehicle (six feet or
less) and a late checkout of
2 p.m.
This package is designed for two people and is available from
March 16 – April 16, 2017;
rates start at $229 per room, per night. Suite upgrades are based upon
availability.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival officially runs from
March 20 - April 16, 2017.
On March 1, 2017 the organizers of the festival announced that
predicted peak bloom, which is when 70% of the blossoms are open, will
arrive early this year, as it is predicted to arrive
March 14-16, 2017.
