GEORGETOWN: Demos, Dinners & Tastings at Via Umbria in April

Here are just some of Via Umbria’s upcoming events for the month of April including various tastings, demos, classes and Italian dinner parties.

Cocktail Class: Pub Snacks – Tuesday, April 11, 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 11, join house mixologist Matt Demma in Via Umbria’s cafe for a class on how to make cocktails that pair well with classic pub snacks. Guests will learn to make several different cocktails while enjoying complimentary bites from the kitchen.

Being the Butcher: Burgers and Brews – Wednesday, April 12, 7:30 p.m.

As part of their “Being the Butcher” series, Via Umbria will host a class on how to make the perfect burger. The class, led by in-house butcher Scott Weiss, will teach guests how to make various types of burgers including beef and lamb. Throughout the demo, guests are invited to taste Via Umbria’s wide selection of imported Italian craft beers to complement the burgers.

Wine Tasting: Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles – Tuesday, April 26, 7:30 p.m.

Join Via Umbria for a tasting of sparkling wines that bear the designation ‘Prosecco’. The tasting will allow guests to compare various sparkling wines made all over Italy, while enjoying small bites from the kitchen. Guests must show a valid government issues ID to attend the class.

Cheese and Beer Pairings – Wednesday, April 26, 7:30 p.m.

Via Umbria will host a class on how to pair cheese with beer to help show guests that cheese can be paired with more than just wine. The class will pair Italian cheeses with both Italian and American craft beers.
