PENN QTR: The Source by Wolfgang Puck Hosts Redeye Cocktail Party: Chopsticks and Copitas
Redeye Menus – a roving pop-up of Spanish Sherry and Asian food pairings by the trio of industry veterans and Sherry enthusiasts, Chantal Tseng, Holly Barzyk and Carlie Steiner, will pop up at The Source by Wolfgang Puck for a cocktail party featuring executive chef Scott Drewno’s newest offerings.
Guests will be treated to a Whole Roast Duck Bar where they can build their own steamed duck bao buns with a myriad of toppings such as sweet pickles, sour pickles, candied chilies, hoisin, Chinese mustard, hot pot aioli, pickled cabbage, sesame sauce, scallions, cucumbers, pickled daikon, fermented black bean and blistered chili oil, pickled cippolinis, roasted garlic, scallions and herb salad. Additionally, there will be a salt-baked whole Rockfish station with accompaniments like butter lettuce, wok fired fennel relish and pickled ginger vinaigrette. Chef Drewno’s signature shrimp dumplings and other bites will round out the selection of elegant Chinese fare.
Sherry maven Chantal Tseng will pour Williams and Humbert Sherry, while sherry cocktails by Stir Bartending Company’s Carlie Steiner will also be available. Williams and Humbert Sherry was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great admirer and connoisseur of sherry products, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations. The Sherry brand has preserved part of the original wines and brandies (soleras) in high quality oak casks, which acts as a base for each sherry and brandy that the company develops today.
Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM (EST). Tickets are $95 each and available here:
The Source is located at 575 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest Washington, DC 20565
