RESTAURANT WEEK DC: Suggestion #9 - 1789 Restaurant
1789 Restaurant, located in historic Georgetown at 1226
36th Street, NW, will offer a special menu available exclusively during
dinner service this Restaurant Week. Created by Executive Chef Samuel
Kim, the three-course menu is priced at $35 per person or $55 with wine
pairings (tax and gratuity not included).
The menu begins with a choice of Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with pomegranate brown butter and rye croutons; Beet Salad with red and gold beets, radicchio, endive, goat cheese and candied walnuts, or Bucatini Cacio e Pepe with mignonette pepper, shallots, Parmigiano-Reggiano and coddled egg
Entree choices are just as enticing and include Short Ribs with pearl and cipollini onions, oyster mushrooms, pomme puree and Bordelaise; Bone-In Pork Chop with white grits, charred Shishito peppers and roasted sunchokes, or the Canadian Salmon with beet puree, roasted turnips and beets, apples, cider foam and vodka crème fraîche.
For dessert, guests can choose between Carrot Cake with maple-glazed walnuts, Cheesecake with cardamom ice cream and spiced caramel sauce and the Chocolate Bundt Cake with dulce de leche, dark chocolate sauce and salted caramel ice cream.
