RESTAURANT WEEK DC: Suggestion #18 - Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap
Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap diners can opt for the Lunch for One
menu from Chef Mauro Molino, which allows guests to choose a salad, as
well as a pasta or panino, topped off with a Ricotta Apple Donut bite
for dessert, or the Lunch for Two menu which features a
shared starter, followed by any shared 10-inch pizza, and a Ricotta
Apple donut bite. Lena's Restaurant Week lunch menu is priced at $15
per person (tax and gratuity not included) and is offered from Monday
through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lunch salads include Shrimp Salad with marinated gulf shrimp, fresh baby arugula, zucchini wheels and pomegranate dressing; Mixed Greens Salad with baby greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, shaved red onion and garlic-red wine vinaigrette, and the Caesar Salad with romaine hearts, creamy garlic dressing, roasted garlic focaccia croutons and shaved parmesan. Savory starters to share include Meatball, beef meatball with fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce; Wood-fired Chicken Wings with olive oil, lemon, rosemary, garlic, caramelized onion and focaccia; Polenta Fries, parmesan-polenta planks with garlic tomato sauce, and Eggplant Parmesan, sliced eggplant, with marinara sauce, mozzarella and basil.
Pasta and panino options include Butternut Squash & Ricotta Gnocchi with wild mushroom-red wine ragu, browned-butter sage cream and parmesan; Fusilli & White Sausage Ragout with ground pork, sage, rosemary, thyme, cream and Grana Padano; Frutti di Mare with spaghetti, shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, cherry tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, white wine, red pepper flakes and fresh basil; Sausage & Peppers Panino with mild Italian sausage, sautéed onions, sweet peppers and marinara sauce, served on a roll; Vegetable Panino with grilled portobello, eggplant, wood-roasted sweet peppers, zucchini and basil pesto, served on house-made focaccia, and Chicken Parmigiana Panino, crispy chicken breast with marinara and fresh mozzarella, served on house-made focaccia.
Pizza highlights include Margherita with mozzarella, crushed San Marzano tomatoes, basil, and olive oil; Shrimp Tomato and Artichoke with marinated shrimp, roasted cherry tomatoes, marinated artichokes, roasted garlic, and mozzarella; Korean BBQ Pizza, Korean BBQ short ribs with gochujang, scallions, mozzarella, and pickled vegetables; Grilled Chicken Pesto with cherry tomatoes, spinach, red onions, and mozzarella; Diavola with spicy sopressata salami, mozzarella, fried kale, and ghost pepper hot honey; Sunny Side Up Pizza with Applewood smoked bacon, sliced potatoes, caramelized onions, smoked provolone and a quail egg, and New England Clam Pizza with littleneck clams, apple wood smoked bacon, mozzarella, Italian parsley, garlic oil and red pepper flakes. For a sweet finish to lunch guests can indulge in Lena's House-made Apple-Ricotta Donut.
